In its own words, The Hunter College New York City Food Policy Center “develops intersectoral, innovative and evidence-based solutions to preventing diet-related diseases and promoting food security in New York and other cities.”
Guttman’s Single Stop office helps students address the issues that prevent them from succeeding in school, including a food pantry created in partnership with the Food Bank for New York.
This food pantry offers non-perishable food items to help QCC students facing food insecurity. The college’s Academic Senate includes a Committee on Food Insecurity; click to access their most recent report (pdf).
Food for Thought, the campus food pantry, is located in Room T4-265. In addition, students experiencing food insecurity can visit the Single Stop office, which helps students apply for assistance and benefits.
